Up-coming Activities

Faith Formation Classes – We will have Faith formation Classes on this Sunday, February 3 rd , 9:30 – 10:50 a.m. for grades 11 and 12.   Grades Pre-School – 8 th and Confirmation will have a Family Lenten gathering in the parish hall, 9:30 – 10:45 a.m.

Confirmation Classes – We will not have Confirmation this Sunday, February 3 rd due to the Family Lenten Gathering.   Our next session will be on Sunday, February 10 th .

Fish Fries!   The Mission Trip Team will sponsor our first Fish Fry on this Friday, February 8 th , 4:30 – 7:00 p.m.   We will once again have our famous buffet with fish (fried and baked), shrimp, baked potatoes, baked beans, slaw, salad, and desserts.   We will have pan fired oysters for an extra fee.   All proceeds will go to help fund our summer Mission Trip to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.   Our other Fish Fries will be on February 22 nd . 29 th , and March 7 th .   Please help us publicize our fish fries!   All youth working the fish fry should plan on helping to set up on Thursday, February 7 th at 6:00 p.m.

Great Adventure Bible Study – I often hear from parishioners that they would like to read the Bible but do not know how or where to start.   This Bible Study is an over view of the Bible and a great introduction to scripture study.   It is part DVD led and part group discussion.   It will be held in the parish hall on eight Wednesdays, February 13 th – April 2 nd .   Each participant will receive a study booklet and Bible timeline (an $18.00 value).   We will take up a donation to off set the cost.   Please call the Faith Formation Office to register for the study so we know how many resources to order.   Join us for this exciting look at the Bible!

Senior Retreat – The Deanery Senior Retreat will be February 14-17, 2008.   This “Christian Awakening” Retreat is a four day/three night experience, which provides a whole new perspective on our faith life.   This retreat is a must for all high school seniors.   The deadline to sign up is February 1 st .   The cost is $195.00, however St. Michael will pay half the fee.   Drop by the Faith Formation Office for a registration brochure.  

Freshman Retreat – The second Deanery Freshman Retreat will be offered at Mount St. Francis on February 23-24, 2008.   This overnight experience is a great way to examine how our values are influenced by our world.   The deadline to sign up is February 15 th .   Pick up a registration brochure in the Faith Formation Office.

Sr. High Youth Rally will be Sunday, March 2 nd at Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis.   This rally will be an energetic day that features speaker Steve Angrisano (the MC at NCYC this year!).   It will give you the chance to meet other high school youth from around the archdiocese, go to Mass, experience praise and worship music, and more!   The cost is $40.00, which includes the rally, lunch, t-shirt, and transportation.   Registration forms are available in the Faith Formation Office.   The deadline to register for this event is February 11 th .

Youth Mission Trip to Pine Ridge Reservation – Our Youth Mission Trip to Pine Ridge South Dakota, June 27 – July 6, 2008 is now full.   Please begin to pray for our youth participants.   If you were unable to get into our mission trip stay tuned for information about our weekend mission trip to the Appalachia area in March of 2008!
