Three
and a half years ago, I stood before you and asked
your support in bringing Church (capital “C”)
to our youth beyond the four walls of our church
(small “C”). You delivered. I have
received encouragement, inspiration, and support
in every way from you. I cannot express
in words what this has done for me personally,
spiritually, and professionally. I asked
for your trust, and many young people stepped
out of their comfort zones and experienced faith
in retreats, NCYC, ski trips, King's Island, Holiday
World, youth Masses, Open YAC, deanery sports,
mission trips, etc. It's been awesome to
see the results of your trust.
Five
months ago, my daughter had a baby boy; I am a
grandma! As you may know, working with
young people involves many evenings and weekends.
I must give up coordinating youth ministry
in order to have this time for my grandson.
I know you will understand this major shift in
my life and why I must do this; what you may never
fully understand is how difficult this decision
was for me. I am absolutely passionate
about working with young people and helping them
to experience their faith everywhere, in all they
do, in the people around them, in their schools,
jobs, homes. This effort and responsibility
never end for any of us. They can't do
it alone. Even young people must help younger
people. I ask your continued support in
this endeavor. I will continue to coordinate
activities for Starlight youth until a decision
is made and will assist after that. Thank
you for giving me the opportunity to work with
your children. Thank you for your trust
and support. Don't stop; it takes all of
us all the time to put our faith into action.
